We're happy and proud to announce that Top's Market has jumped on board in a big way. Every racer in the 12 Hours of Weaverville and the 6 Hours of Weaverville will get a made-to-order sandwich to be delivered to the race venue on raceday. A big Team Bigfoot thank you to Top's for their generosity. Remember their support when you pick up your race weekend supplies.
NOTE: This is just a partial list of rules and such. For complete rules click here.
Pits: Pits are in the Trinity High School parking lot and on the front lawn of the school. It's gonna be hot--- bring shade. The school showers will be open for racer's use. Bring soap & towels etc.
Riders Meeting: All riders must attend the 7:45am riders meeting and we strongly suggest that all riders attend to learn check-in procedure, etc. Arrive ready-to-race, by the time we're done it will be start time.
Start/Finish Time & Location: We'll start the race promptly at 8am. The start is in front of the school, the finish is at the school cafeteria. Only laps COMPLETED by 8pm for the 12-hour or 2pm for the 6-hour will be counted.
Lap Counting: Each team will be provided with a wood "baton" that MUST be carried by the rider on course. A 15-minute penalty is assesed for a lost baton. Only one rider from your team is allowed on course at any time. At the finish line, upon the completion of each lap, the rider must stop to have Team Bigfoot record that lap's finish time.
Course: It's 11.7 miles long with about 1700' of climbing. The first 3 miles is a fireroad climb, followed by a mile of mostly level and then the rest is fun, flowy, mostly downhill singletrack...you'll love it! We'll use standard arrows and ribbon and such. The course will be marked by the afternoon of May 21.
Self Sufficiency Rule: Once on course, only the rider him/herself may work on the bike, and only with tools and parts carried on the bike. Each lap mush be completed on the same bike on which it began. Once back at the finish line you can switch bikes, get help from your team or spectators or Santa Claus for that matter, but you gotta get there under your own power and with your own mechanical know-how and ingenuity.
