KIRKWOOD CHALLENGE SUPER-D
Friday Aug. 20, 3PM. Super-D races are described as being a downhill mountain bike race with a finish at a lower elevation from the start, but with a climb or two. This one fits that bill. It'starts way at the top of chair #2 at Vista and finishes 1400' down at the bottom of chair #1. Along the way riders enjoy swooping single-track, a carry-your-momentum rise or two and one real climb that rises about 150' in 100 yards. It*s a best-of-two runs format. Fun stuff!

It has all the elements of a true mountain bike course: plenty of single-track, fire-road climbs, some short steep sections, some technical tests of skill, and of course, fantastically beautiful views along the way.
